Dear Members,

Have you decided to go on your first major vacation as a couple?  Are you
nervous about spending so much uninterrupted time together?  Well, there is no
need to be worried.  Just follow our easy steps below to plan a fun and stress
free vacation together!

Vacation Tips for Couples
Follow these steps below to make the most of your vacation and create a
memorable experience that will last a lifetime:

1. Location – Make sure that wherever you go, it is somewhere you both will enjoy.  Some people want to relax on vacation and only want to go to beaches. Others prefer adventure vacations in the wilderness, skiing in the mountains or exploring European cities. It is important to pick a location that will please both parties.

2. Go over expectations – Discuss with your partner what you want to do when you arrive at your vacation destination. If your expectations differ either be accommodating or spend time apart fitting in what you want to do.

3. Have a Plan – If you run out of time on vacation or feel like you are not fitting in something you want to do, arguments can start. It is always better to have a general idea of what you will do on each day. This plan can certainly be adjusted on the trip but having something laid out will help avoid conflict. This is more pertinent to exploring cities and countries as opposed to beach or adventure vacations.

4. Maintain a Sense of Humor– Take things in stride! Nothing is ever going to turn out exactly as planned. If it rains all week on your beach vacation do not let it get you down. It will be something to laugh about in years to come. Try to see it as a bonding experience.

5. Alone Time – Remember that on vacation everything is magnified. If you are getting frustrated with each other go for a walk or go grab a cup of coffee by yourself. Spending some time apart is vital on vacations so that you do not feel smothered by each other.

6. Compromise – You will most likely spend some of the vacation doing something you do not want to do. Understand that your partner has expectations too. Try to make it the best trip possible for each other.

7. Have Fun – Remember this is supposed to be fun. Realize that all adventures come with ups and downs and never take anything too seriously. Have an open mind and you will be guaranteed a good time!
