Date Ideas to Keep you Warm in any Weather

Are you looking for a better alternative to the usual rainy day activities of dinner and a movie or going to the mall? Did you have a fun hike planned for your first date with that special someone and now the weather isn't cooperating? No need to worry. Just because the weather is a little colder or the snow is falling outside it doesn't mean that you can't have just as much fun as you had strolling down the beach last summer. Below are some of our favorite cold weather date ideas.
Date Ideas to Keep you Warm in any Weather

 A night abroad. Choose a Country and invite some friends over for a dinner theme party. For example, if you choose France, look up some French recipes on websites like www.epicurious.com. Have your guests wear something “French” like a beret and watch a French movie or a movie that takes place in France such as the classic “An American in Paris”
 
 Learn something new. Your local Community College probably offers many inexpensive classes or you can go to www.craigslist.org and search through the classes listed in their community section. Cooking, pottery-making, wine-tasting, and ballroom dancing are just some of the classes you may find.

 Go ice skating at an indoor rink. This is an especially great idea for a first date as there will be lots of excuses to get close as you try to save each other from falling on the ice.

 Support your local teams. Basketball or Hockey games are fun winter events and they often offer discounted ticket prices for games held during the week.

 Relax and pamper yourselves. Treat you and your special someone to a day at the spa. Many Day Spas offer special couples massages so you can really enjoy the experience together.

 Go bowling. Whether you go just as a couple or with a group of friends this is always a fun activity.

 Play pool at your favorite local pub. Loser buys the next round!

 Host a game night. Invite some friends over, order pizza and break out the board games.

 Indoor camping. If you have a fireplace light a fire, make Smores and tell ghost stories just like you did at summer camp.

 Stay in bed all day. Have breakfast in bed, watch movies, or read a book, but most importantly Don't get out of your pajamas all day.

 Start your own book club. Choose a book that you are both interested in reading. Make a weekly date at your favorite coffee shop to cozy up together and discuss what you have read.

 Get cultured. Go to a play, symphony, concert or the ballet. Type “discount event tickets” into your search engine to find inexpensive tickets to local events. Discount ticket websites like www.goldstarevents.com offer tickets to events at sometimes up to 50% off the regular admission price.

 Go to a local museum or art gallery. Check out the Entertainment section of your local paper for information on upcoming shows or special exhibits.

 Don't fight the cold. Drive to the snow. Make snowmen, have a snowball fight or go sledding down a big hill. Be sure to stop somewhere for a warm hot chocolate or a Café Mocha afterwards. You'll feel just like a kid again.
