MATCHMAKINGMOMS.COM:
NEW ONLINE DATING COMMUNITY OFFERING
‘MOTHER KNOWS BEST’ APPROACH FOR TODAY’S SINGLE

Putting real life human interaction into online dating with mom, the most trusted source, to find a date for single sons and single daughters (www.matchmakingmoms.com)

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (August 28, 2006) – MatchmakingMoms.com is a new online dating community built on the trust of ‘mom’ to candidly network to find a partner for their loved ones. It is a unique online dating service where mom, not the dater, becomes a
member to create the profile for their single son or single daughter, search for matches, and set up dates all on their adult child’s behalf. There are no personality tests or computerized simulation - just real life human interaction. Moms love to brag about their children’s best attributes, and her opinion is usually the most trusted. After all, mother knows best.

MatchmakingMoms.com was founded by Dawn Miller, a thirty-something single woman whose experiences in the world of online dating, set-ups, blind dates and eventfocused networking was shaped in part, by her mom’s hope to end her single status. The savvy entrepreneur often joked with her girlfriends that their moms should start networking together to find them potential mates. In 2004, Miller started working on the original idea of creating MatchmakingMoms.com to fill this void - literally marrying the worlds of online dating and a ‘mother knows best’ approach to matchmaking. “In the search for love, if you’re willing to try a number of options both online and offline, why not give mom a chance” said Miller. “Since mom raised you, she knows all of your strengths and your weaknesses and provides a truly honest and more insightful perspective to potential daters while supporting you through the search process.

MatchmakingMoms.com reduces the angst by putting mom in charge.” What distinguishes MatchmakingMoms.com from other online dating services is that members are mothers, and not the daters themselves. Creating a profile is easy, because mom already knows what type of person is best for their single son or daughter. Mom can provide better insight, charming anecdotes, highlight positive attributes and offer a truly unique description in their loved one’s profile, as they search for matches and arrange meetings on their son or daughter’s behalf. Singles only need to decide whether or not to respond to an arranged date invitation with a screened, pre-qualified date candidate.

On the date, the matches can confidently test for good chemistry, knowing their date has been carefully screened by people they trust. MatchmakingMoms.com attracts higher quality matches, because its members, moms, invest the time and energy to find the best possible matches, and vouch for their son or daughter’s interests, tastes, good character and personality.

MatchmakingMoms.com was designed as an online haven for serious dating. Therefore, strict criteria for membership includes: honesty, credibility, compatibility, and safety. All members must be age 18 and over.

About Founder Dawn Miller
Dawn Miller founded MatchmakingMoms.com and the companion sites, MatchmakingKids.com and MatchmakingFriends.com in 2004. The sites were officially launched last month (July 2006). Miller’s background uniquely prepared her to fill this void in the online dating world. She comes from a military family that traveled around the world, and is quite familiar with the difficulty of making new friends and acquaintances. Along the way, she also developed strong entrepreneurial instincts. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications from California State University-Sacramento in 1997, and began her career at an investment banking firm. Two years after that, she moved to Spain to teach English, and later returned to California to work in the management, customer relations and business development divisions of the well-renowned e-commerce site, eLuxury, for the past six years. Miller currently resides in San Francisco with her boyfriend, whom she met online.
